Principal's Message

Greetings Parents and Families of Don Bosco Technology Middle School:

Welcome Back! I hope you have been enjoying the final weeks of summer, and are now looking forward to a great school year. We are incredibly excited to begin our first year in our new location at 264 11th Avenue (The former site of Paterson Catholic). The upcoming school year will be filled with golden opportunities for all of our students as we strive to find ways to create a highly successful middle school community that inspires a passion for learning. We embark on this journey with a pledge to you, our students and parents, that this will be a year of engaging, meaningful and rigorous work in our classrooms, combined with special events and school activities.

My name is Wendy Munoz, It is a privilege and honor to be here for a second year and I am looking forward to an exciting year of learning, growing, and working with our professional staff and with you, our parents and community members.

In order to achieve our shared goals, I have included several ways that family members of our school community can work together with Don Bosco staff:

  • Send your child to school every day on time and fully uniformed.
  • Make sure your child gets eight hours sleep each night.
  • Establish a routine for homework and studying. Give your child a quiet corner to read and regular time to do homework.
  • Check your child’s assignment pad for homework and important information.
  • Keep in touch with your child’s teacher via e-mail, telephone, notes, or classroom visits.
  • Attend school-wide events, classroom events, and conferences.
  • Read with your child.
  • Celebrate your child’s success (giving verbal recognition and praise), no matter how small it may seem.

  • Talk to your child regularly about his or her school day and/or learning experiences. This will keep your child enthusiastic about learning and proud of their work.

Please know that the Don Bosco administration and staff welcomes your participation, support, and efforts as they are greatly valued and appreciated. Being informed will help. Please explore our website to find out more about curriculum, programs, and daily events at Don Bosco. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me, or any staff member at 973-321-0580. You are invited to attend our Back to School Night on Tuesday, September 20th, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, which will start with a general session, followed by a time to meet and talk with your child’s teachers.

I am looking forward to working with you and your student as we embark on an academically successful school year. We are in this together! I look forward to meeting your son or daughter bright and early on our first day of school, Thursday, September 6! You should’ve received a letter from our transportation department with the bus information for your daughter or son. If you didn’t please provide us with your completed emergency form so that we can update your information. Please note, if your student’s home School is School 5 then students should be ready to board the bus at 7:30 AM at School 5; if their home School is School 27 then they should report to School 27 at 7:30. The busses will be departing these locations every morning at 7:30 AM. Students should plan to arrive to school 5 or 27 at 7:25 AM.

I wish you a wonderful year of success!
